Kenneth L. Chung, DDS, MPH
Dr. Kenneth Chung has practiced clinical dentistry since 1986, and founded ComfortCare Dental in 1995. In his 30 years of clinical dental practice, he has devoted himself to caring for the long-term health of thousands of patients of all ages. He is known for his warm and compassionate manner and his meticulous attention to detail, which comes through in the quality of his work.
Dr. Chung was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1975. He received a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) from The University of Michigan in 1977, where he remained as a member of the faculty until moving to Portland in 1980. He was a Research Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, an Associate Professor of Public Health Dentistry and Practice Planning at OHSU before starting in private practice in SE Portland. In 1990, he moved his clinic to Milwaukie, where he has remained since.
Dr. Chung has taught and mentored at the OHSU and Clackamas Community College. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, and as Chairman from 2002–2003. He currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the ODA.
Dr. Chung speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin. He is happily married with two grown children, two grandchildren, and an adopted cat.
Travis M. Cochell, DMD
Born and raised in Oregon City, Dr. Travis Cochell discovered his passion for dentistry in high school through a hands-on Explorer Post program at OHSU. Inspired by his time working in his family’s furniture factory, he found parallels between craftsmanship, precision, and dentistry’s focus on detail and care. His dedication to learning led him to graduate as Valedictorian of Oregon City High School and later earn his Bachelor of Science from Portland State University with high honors. He continued on to Oregon Health & Science University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, third in his class, and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Cochell has worked in both public health and private practice, completed evidence-based research with the University of Washington and OHSU, and volunteered for ten consecutive years providing dental care in remote areas of Mexico. Now serving patients in his hometown at Comfort Care Dental in Oregon City, he combines his technical expertise with genuine compassion and a dedication to long-term oral health.
Dr. Cochell is currently a member of good standing with the American Dental Association & the Oregon Dental Association. Dr. Cochell enjoys many other activities & hobbies outside the dental field including leather working, woodworking, traveling, fishing, camping, hiking and volunteering for the church he attends.
Dr. Bermen Wong, DDS
After growing up in Eugene, Oregon, Dr. Bermen Wong left Oregon briefly to receive his bachelor's in Biology from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and then his DDS from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Since graduating in 2016, he's made his home in the Portland area and has since adopted a cat named Al. He seeks to serve the community as he would his own family; with compassion, as comfortably as possible, and by just doing what is right for everyone he sees.
